The 15th annual Mariposa PowWow (Chi-Tock-Non Kote-U-Pu, Spring Celebration) is organized by the American Indian Council of Mariposa County. PowWow is a celebration of Native American culture, song, dance and regalia. Mariposa PowWow helps fund the Nellie Tucker Scholarship which provides funds for local Native students to further their education.

Location: Yosemite Art Center in Yosemite Village
Every week the Yosemite Art Center in Yosemite Village offers free art classes, Monday through Saturday. Visiting artists from around the country offer instruction in a variety of mediums. Meet at the Art Center at 10AM. After a short introductory talk, the group moves outside to sketch, draw or paint. Bring your own materials or you can purchase supplies at the Art Center.
This week's artist, Rovert Dvorak, presents "The Magic of Watercolor."

The first annual Gold Country Golf Tournament at the Lake Don Pedro Golf and Country Club will also be the first official tournament at the newly renovated course, which reopened in February. The course plays beautifully, the clubhouse is first class, and the restaurant already has a growing base of repeat patrons.
Entry fee for the tournament is $95, which includes greens fees and cart, awards dinner, raffle prizes and a player "goody bag". Extra tickets for awards dinner only are $25. There will also be games including longest drive competition, closest to the pin competition, Vegas Hole and Surprise 18th hole game.

Then stay around for the dinner dance from 5:30PM until 10PM at the Coulter Cafe on Main Street. Boogie to the Blues Box Bayou Band. Tickets are $15 per person.
