Pets in YosemiteSometimes travelers leave home believing it will be fun to bring their pets along, and then discover that the presence of the animal(s) restricts the owners' activities. Many accommodations do allow pets -- policies are noted in the listings under "Places to Stay." However, there is still the problem of where the pets can go during the day. Especially in Yosemite National Park a few owners are always surprised to discover, too late, that although leashed dogs are allowed in certain areas, they are not permitted on unpaved trails or in wilderness areas (see the Park Service site for complete rules).

If you find a need to board your animal, the following facilities are available. Note that all require proof of current vaccinations, so be sure to bring the necessary documents before leaving home.
