September 18 at the Mariposa Fairgrounds. The festival becomes bigger and bigger each year with great BBQ and fun for the entire family. So bring lawn chairs and blankets, your appetite and a pair of dancing shoes, for the foothill festival of the year, Blazin'Hog! Bands include Mark St. Mary Zydeco Band, The BluesBox Bayou Band, and Tom Rigney & Flambeau. Zydeco dancing expert Cleo Home will give group dance lessons and personalized instruction out on the dance floor during band breaks until 4PM. BBQ contestants will be competing for $500 cash prizes. Their food will be evaluated by a panel of judges and by you -- the tasting public. Other refreshments will also be available. This event is a benefit for John C. Fremont Hospital in Mariposa. General admission is $10, seniors $7.50, ages 5 - 17 $5, under 5 get in free! |
