At Butterfly Creek, Mt. Bullion and Silver Fox wineries, the owners, operators and winemakers are one in the same.

Visitors to Mt. Bullion Winery can enjoy sampling the wine collection as proprietors Harold and Kris Casto offer insights about the family-made Zinfandel and Cabernet Franc wines. Visitors can enjoy a picnic in the oak grove at the winery, or play a game of bocce ball or horseshoes in a peaceful setting, surrounded by lush vineyards and Mt. Bullion. Butterfly Creek Winery, set on 200 acres adjoining the Sierra foothills, has been in business since the Gerken family arrived to Mariposa in 1972. Visitors to the winery can taste Merlot, Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, and are welcome to take a break to picnic next to the bubbling Butterfly Creek.
